Piano and Keyboard

In private Piano, as well as all private music lessons, students will gain advanced reading skills with increasing book levels. Students will begin writing notes, and may learn the singing scale as well. Students will have the choice of whether they would prefer to pick pieces they want to learn or if they want the teacher to pick pieces for them based on their level and personality. MTAC (Music Teachers Association of California) certificates are available for piano at HMA.

MTAC is a nationally recognized organization that was founded over 100 years ago and holds more than 4500 members! The purpose of MTAC is to uphold the highest standards in music education by promoting the highest quality lessons for members and students. HMA MTAC certified instructors are available to give students preparative courses that will prime students for the nationally accredited MTAC exam. Upon completion students will receive a certificate of completion that they can reference on resumes, school applications, and more.
